Dr. Meghan Larivee

Integrative Dermatology

A licensed Naturopathic Physician (ND) and Licensed Acupuncturist (LAc), specializes in integrative dermatology for chronic skin conditions.

With more than 15 years of clinical experience, Dr. Meghan Larivee specializes in helping people with chronic and complex skin conditions through an integrative, root-cause approach to dermatology. Her clinical focus includes acne, eczema, rosacea, alopecia areata, psoriasis, and topical steroid withdrawal. She believes that thoughtfully designed, well-executed plans can effectively address complex skin conditions.

Dr. Larivee earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado before earning her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. From there, she secured one of only two residency positions nationwide in the highly competitive STAIR Integrative Medicine Residency in Davis, California.  She holds additional certification as a Root Cause Dermatology Certified Practitioner.

Dr. Larivee brings that same depth of training into the classroom.  As a dermatology professor at University of Western States, she teaches upper-level medical students in Portland, OR- shaping the next generation of doctors in evidence-based integrative dermatologic care.  She also serves on the Oregon Board of Naturopathic Medicine, where she helps set the standards that define excellence and integrity across the profession in Oregon.

Her training in Chinese Medicine and acupuncture directly informs her clinical work- particularly for people whose inflammatory skin conditions are driven by stress response, immune dysregulatin and nervous system imbalance.  It is a perspective that conventional dermatology rarely has time to consider- and one that changed how she understood chronic skin issues entirely.

People managing, coping, getting by- but never quite free from the next flare. Steroids and antibiotics quieted the skin temporarily, only for symptoms to return once treatment stopped.  The skin was responding, but the underlying biology driving the condition was going untouched.  The problem wasn't the treatment.  It's that the treatment kept stopping at the surface.  Dr. Larivee built this practice for going deeper.

MY APPROACH

Personalized Integrative Dermatology

Chronic skin conditions rarely have a single cause. Dr. Larivee's approach begins with a comprehensive understanding of the biological systems driving your condition. - and builds a protocol from that foundation.

01

Integrative Biochemistry Analysis

Dr. Larivee provides you with an understanding of your biochemistry as it relates to your skin condition. Using advanced laboratory testing to evaluate your gut microbiome, detoxification pathways, mitochondrial health, and immune response. This analysis helps to uncover the underlying drivers of your skin condition.

02

Individualized Dermatology Solutions

Based upon your clinical history and laboratory data, Dr. Larivee develops a tailored treatment plan designed to address the specific processes that are contributing to your skin condition. Treatment strategies may include carefully curated medicines ranging from pharmaceuticals to botanicals, nutrients, and supplements all selected to support skin barrier function, immune balance, and long-term skin health.

03

Lasting Results

Sustained improvement requires addressing both the visible symptoms of skin disease and the underlying factors that contribute to inflammation and recurrence. Dr. Larivee's approach supports skin health from both the outside in and the inside out. By combining targeted therapies with integrative strategies, the goal is to restore skin stability and reduce the frequency and severity of flares over time.
